Week on January 19th

Stats:  Students will begin chapter 5 and learn how to construct probability distributions.  Then they will find the mean, variance, standard deviation and expected value for the distribution.  Students will complete lesson 5-2 from their textbook.

Calculus:  Students are currently working on linearization and newton's method.  They will be asked to complete page 229 from their book.

Pssa Math:  A new quarter begins on Wednesday and our classes change.  So for our new incoming students, we will begin by receiving our first unit and the course syllabus.

Week of December 22 and January 5th

Stats: Test 12/22
Jan 5th:   Finish ch 4 presentations and Review for Midterms.

Calculus:  Review for test on 4-1 and 4-3. 
Jan 5th:  Review for midterm. 

Pssa Math 7:  Students are starting their unit packets on Percents.

Week of 11/24

Stats:   Students will complete the lesson on the multiplication rule of probability beginning on page 209.   We will likely be having a quiz before Thanksgiving break.


Calculus:  Students will begin working on taking derivatives of logrthymic functions.  They will complete lesson 3-9 from their book.

Pssa Math: Students will continue to work on their Area and Perimeter Unit.  Please encourage them to work on these each day.

Week of 11/11

Stats:  Students will be starting chapter 4, simple probability.  They will learn to write sample spaces for all possible outcomes in an event and then test and compare the theoretical probability to the experimental probability.


Calculus:  Students will begin to learn the rules for differentiating exponential and log functions.  Students will be asked to complete lesson 3-7 from the book and will follow up with a practice worksheet.


Pssa math:  Students will start their next unit on similar figures and proportions.  They will continue to work through this packet for the duration of the week.

Week of 11/3

Stats:  Students will begin their bungee Barbie projects on Monday and be assessed on chapter 10 on Friday.


Calculus:  Students will begin their sports science project Monday, and complete the lesson on the chain rule Thursday.  Test on lesson 2-4 and 3-5 will be on Thursday.


Pssa Math 7:  Students will continue to work on their unit 1 packets entitled Angles and Triangles.  Their test will be at the end of the week.

Week of 10/14

Statistics:  Students will complete page 144 on percentiles and z-scores and then add this new knowledge to finishing their fast food projects.  A test on chapter 3 will be next week.


Calculus:  Students will begin lesson 3-4 on velocity, acceleration and other rates of change.  They will be asked to complete page 129 for homework along with a worksheet.


Pssa Math:  Students will complete their last unit packet on percents before having their test at the end of the week.  Then they will begin to practice standardized test items.

Week of 10/6

Stats:  Students will begin by completing page 144 for homework.  Then students will be working on a fast food project for finding the measures of central tendency, position and variation.

Calculus:  Test on Tuesday for derivatives!  Students will begin to study velocity and other rates of change.  Then they will be asked to complete page 129 for homework.

Pssa Math:  Students will complete their unit packet on percents throughout the week.
